Welcome to the heart and soul of Hayes Detail Shop, a journey fueled by a teenage dream and a passion for all things automotive. Meet Matt Hayes, the visionary founder who turned his love for cool hot rods and badass motorcycles into a thriving business in the picturesque town of Dundas, Ontario.
Back in high school at Parkside Secondary, Matt's heart revved for the sleek lines of custom hot rods. His family shared a love for classic cars, but Matt was drawn to the art of transforming these machines into something extraordinary. As he stepped into the crossroads of post-high school life, Matt's path became clear, he wanted a career that echoed the rhythm of engines and the shine of polished chrome.
With his father, Robert Hayes, running a used car lot, Matt found his entry point. What began as detailing used lot cars soon evolved into a passion-driven venture, detailing cars for the people of Dundas. It wasn't just about cleaning, it was about bringing out the unique personality in every vehicle.
From humble beginnings, making $500 a week, Matt's journey took a turn when he bought his first car to customize, a Model A. The garage echoes with stories of other builds, like the '36 Ford and the '53 Chevy, which Matt proudly clocked over 100,000 miles and now, the ongoing saga unfolds with the construction of a '56 Ford F100. But life's journey sometimes takes detours, and Matt recently added a 2003 Heritage Softail 100th Anniversary Harley Davidson to his collection, embracing the spirit of the open road.
Matt's love for the automotive community found a new dimension when he joined the Beatniks Koolsville Car Club, becoming the first Canadian member. This marked not just a membership, but a brotherhood that shared his fervor for cool Hot Rods & Customs.
In 2004, the doors of Hayes Detail Shop swung open at 16 Foundry St. starting with space for one and a half cars. The shop expanded to accommodate nearly five, becoming a renowned spot in Dundas, Ontario. It wasn't just about detailing cars, it was about creating a community, a brotherhood for those who shared Matt's love and passion. The rest is history.
The year 2023 witnessed the birth of Hayes Detail Products. A brand born from the need for a maintenance solution between professional detailing services. In collaboration with JJ Vola, the Co-Founder, Hayes Detail Products aspired to be the #1 Automotive Car Cleaning Brand in Canada and beyond.
As we roll into 2024, Hayes Detail Shop is raising the bar. New services, including Tinting, Paint Protection Film (PPF), Glass Protection Treatment, and Windshield Chip Fix, have been added to make Hayes Detail Shop your one-stop-shop for all your vehicle styling needs. But the vision doesn't end there. Hayes Detail Shop aspires to extend its detailing services across the country, reaching enthusiasts who share the same passion for cars and motorcycles.
